Srinagar: Three Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) militants, including two Pakistanis, were killed while another ultra
was arrested in Jammu and Kashmir since May 2, police sources said on May 3.
One of the slain militants killed in an encounter in Poonch was identified as Abu Mahfooz, resident of
Pakistan. One AK rifle, three magazines and two grenades were recovered from the site.
An AK rifle, four magazines, 90 rounds and a grenade were recovered from another deceased militant
who was killed in an encounter in Kupwara.
Border Security Force (BSF) recovered a grenade from a market in Kulgam area of Anantnag district on
May 3, which was later defused by the experts.
One militant was arrested as police busted a hideout in Ganderbal area on the outskirts of Srinagar and
recovered four handgrenades and a stick grenade from it.
Meanwhile, residents of Wanpoh on May 3 blocked traffic on Srinagar-Jammu national highway in
protest against the alleged high-handedness of security personnel who allegedly roughed up villagers
after a militant attack on their camp in which left a jawan slightly injured. However, the villagers lifted the
blockade after local police assured people that the matter would be taken up with the higher authorities.
