New Delhi: The three-day sangh parivar-Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) conclave, which concluded on
May 3, agreed to evolve a mechanism for enhanced co-ordination and communication between the
party, government and various parivar outfits on key economic and political issues besides refraining
from personal attacks on each other.
The meeting, attended by Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee, his Deputy L K Advani and top brass of
various sangh outfits including Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), Swadeshi Jagran Manch (SJM) and BMS,
sought to bridge the gap in co-ordination between them, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)
spokesman Ram Madhav told reporters at the conclusion of the conclave.
He said the entire exercise was aimed at having a "free and frank" exchange of views.
Confrontationist and mutually contradictory stands on key issues like disinvestment, World Trade
Organisation (WTO), Ayodhya and Indo-Pakistan relations had often marred their relations in the
past.
While supporting Prime Minister's "bold initiative" in breaking the Indo-Pak logjam, the parivar outfits
cautioned against any hasty dialogue with Islamabad till it showed change of heart at the ground level,
Madhav said.
