Call about ultras in Shastri Bhavan alarms cops
Saturday, May 3 2003 18:52 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Police and security agencies went into a tizzy on May 3 afternoon following a telephone call claiming that suspected terrorists had entered the Shastri Bhavan complex in the heart of the capital.

Police Control Room (PCR) received an anonymous call at 15:35 hours (IST) about two suspected persons entering into the high-security multi-storeyed building, police sources said.

Police and other security agencies rushed to the spot and carried out searches for over an hour, they said.

However, no suspected person could be located and the call was dismissed as "bogus", they said.

Incidentally, the call was traced to a PCO located next to a gate of the Bhavan but the caller was traceless.
