Islamabad: Just as a new peace initiative between India and Pakistan made headway, the acting Indian
High Commissioner T C A Raghavan had a chance encounter with Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf
at a posh restaurant.
Raghavan, who was having lunch with a local journalist at the restaurant, had a pleasant surprise, when
Musharraf, stated to be under thick blanket of security following threats to his life from militant outfits,
walked in with his wife Sehba to have a quite meal.
As he walked in, Musharraf in his inimitable style went around greeting other guests and paused for a
while to have a warm handshake with Raghavan after the Indian Envoy introduced himself.
While exchanging pleasantries with Raghavan, Musharraf asked him, "When is your boss coming?"
referring to the new Indian High Commissioner.
Pakistan was awaiting India to name its new High Commissioner, following the recent announcement by
Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee that India would restore full diplomatic ties with Pakistan.
After exchanging pleasantries with Raghavan, Musharraf settled for a quite lunch with his family.
