SARS precaution: 70 foreigners confined

Hyderabad: About 70 foreign nationals were confined at YMCA at Secunderabad on May 3 night following detection of two suspected SARS cases.

Willcox Lukes Charles (19) and Robert Jason Goodall (18) were admitted to a hospital in Hyderabad following complain of fever and cough, hospital sources said.

The two Australian youths are members of the 19-member cultural troupe that arrived in the city on May 1 from Thailand via Mumbai and is staying at YMCA.

According to hospital sources blood samples were being sent to National Institute of Virology in Pune for confirmation of SARS.

However, the X-ray report of both the patients showed that the lungs were clear.
