Minister suspects ISI hand behind Marad killings
Monday, May 5 2003 22:26 Hrs (IST)

Kozhikode: The involvement of Pakistan-based Inter Services Intelligence (ISI) could not be ruled out in the sudden attack at Marad on May 2 which claimed nine lives but "only a thorough probe can identify the real culprits", Union Minister of State for Home I D Swami said on May 5.

"We can't rule out their (ISI's) involvement. They have been engaging in such dastardly acts very frequently," he told reporters after visiting Marad.

It was very clear that a handful of locals could have not committed such an unprovoked sudden attack. Only a detailed probe into the incident would help in identifying the real culprits behind the attack, he said.
