Militants trigger blasts in JK; 1 killed, 24 hurt

Srinagar: One person was killed and 24 others injured in two separate explosions triggered by militants
in Kashmir Valley on May 6, official sources said.
A cobbler was killed on the spot and 20 pedestrians injured when a grenade hurled by ultras targeting a
moving security vehicle missed the target and exploded on the road at crowded Rajpora Chowk in
Pulawama district.
In another incident, militants detonated an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at Lasjan by-pass on the
outskirts of Srinagar injuring four persons, two of whom were travelling by a truck that was damaged in
the blast.
The IED, planted on the roadside, was so powerful that the sound of the blast was heard in a five-km
radius, the sources said, adding security vehicles were the target of the militants
Hundreds of security and private vehicles ply on the highway and the by-pass is being guarded round
the clock by security personnel.
