Kailashpati Mishra sworn in as Gujarat Governor

Gandhinagar: Kailashpati Mishra was sworn-in as the 18th Governor of Gujarat at an impressive ceremony on May 7. He succeeds Sunder Singh Bhandari, who completed his term on April 30.

He was administered the oath of office by the Acting Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court, J N Bhatt on the lawns of Raj Bhawan in the state capital.

Chief Minister Narendra Modi, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MLAs, state Ministers and Union Ministers Ravishanker Prasad and C P Thakur, Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly Amarsinh Choudhary, former state Chief Minister Keshubhai Patel were prominent among those present on the occasion.
