Srinagar: Militants on May 7 ambushed an Army search party killing two personnel and injuring five others in Baramulla district of Jammu and Kashmir.

Heavily armed militants hurled grenades and opened fire on Rashtriya Rifles personnel at Satrina when they were returning after conducting a search operation in a nearby village, official sources said.

Two personnel were killed on the spot in the attack and five injured. Army personnel retaliated and an exchange of fire took place in the area, which has been cordoned off since.
