DDA scam accused Khatri surrenders before court

New Delhi: Hotelier and one of the accused in the DDA (Delhi Development Authority) scam, Vinod
Khatri, who had been on run since April 30, surrendered on May 7 before a city court five days after a
non-bailable warrant was issued against him.
Khatri, who had been elusive after Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided his office and residence
on April 30, appeared before the designated CBI judge Prem Kumar and surrendered.
The court had issued non-bailable warrant against him on May 3 and directed the CBI to comply with the
order by May 12. Subsequently, the CBI had also issued a "look out" notice against Khatri, who owns a
restaurant in South West Delhi.
CBI registered a fourth case in the DDA scam on April 29 against Khatri, sacked DDA vice chairman
Subash Sharma, suspended DDA official Ashok Kapoor, main conduit Dharambir Khattar and former
Delhi High Court judge Shamit Mukherjee, already arrested.
