Agartala: Normal life in Tripura was affected by the dawn to dusk bandh called by both the ruling Left front and Opposition Congress-Indigenous Nationalist Party of Tripura on May 8, official sources said.

Vehicles remained off the roads, shutters of shops and business establishments were down and markets closed.

No untoward incident was reported from any part of the state during the first hours of the bandh, called in protest against the May 7 militant attacks in different parts of the state, killing altogether 31 non- tribals.
