Bangalore: Software major Infosys on May 11 declined to comment on charges made by former director
Phaneesh Murthy against the company but said its reaction would only cause "acute embarrassment" to
the latter.
"Our reacting to statements from Phaneesh Murthy will cause him acute embarrassment. Hence, at this
point, we do not want to respond," a Infosys spokesperson said.
Phaneesh Murthy in a statement from Fremont, California, said that he would not have liked the $ 3
million out-of-court settlement by Infosys with former Infosys employee Reka Maximovitch, for a sexual
harassment lawsuit she filed against Phaneesh Murthy and the company.
He also accused Infosys of retaliating against him by retaining the rights of legal action due to a legal
battle he has waged against the software firm.
Phaneesh Murthy said his lawyers had initiated action to retrieve his vested and paid-for shares, which
he accused Infosys of withholding.
