Arms dump unearthed, naxals blast telecom tower

Hyderabad: Two large dumps of arms have been unearthed and two villagers have been arrested from
Nallamala forests areas by the Anti-Naxalite Police team in Anantapur district of Andhra Pradesh, police
said on May 11.
Reports in Hyderabad said police also seized two SBBL guns, one DBBL gun, four field mines, 12 kgs of
guillotine sticks, six grenades and 22 live cartridges apart from uniforms, drugs and other items.
Police had intensified combing operations in the district following the recent kidnapping of policemen in
April who were later released unharmed.
Meanwhile, naxalites late night blasted a telecom tower in Penukonda village in the district. Details of the
extent of damage are not yet available, police said.
Police also said a large of number of naxals on May 10 looted a computer, a camera and an UPS used
for distributing photo IDs to voters in Sapparla village of Visakhapatnam district.
