3 militants, woman among six killed in Kashmir

Srinagar: Six people, including three militants and a woman, were killed while security forces busted six
militant hideouts seizing a big cache of arms and ammunition in Jammu and Kashmir since May 12 night,
a police spokesman said.
Two Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) militants, including a self-styled district commander, were killed in an
encounter with security forces in Doda district on May 12 evening, the spokesman said.
He said another Hizbul Mujahideen militant was killed by security forces in Kulgam area of Anantnag
district.
A woman identified as Fatima was shot dead by militants inside her house at Dardpora-Reshigund in
Kupwara district of North Kashmir late on May 12 night, the spokesman said.
He said militants killed two persons at Kasblari top in Poonch district and Larkati bridge in Rajouri district.
Security forces busted three militant hideouts in Surankote area of Poonch district, which led to the
recovery of two pika guns, three AK assault rifles, a universal machine gun, a rocket projectile gun, a
self-loaded rifle, a pistol, 12 rockets, a 60-mm mortar, two anti-tank grenades and nearly 1,500 rounds
of assorted ammunition, the spokesman said.
Three other militant hideouts were smashed by the security forces during search operations at Badran
in Badgam district, Babademb in Srinagar and Gool in Udhampur district, the spokesman said, adding
the recoveries included an AK assault rifle, two pistol silencers, three rockets, three timers, 76
detonators, a grenade thrower, 19 grenades and four kgs explosives.
