Mozambique President calls on Chandrababu Naidu

Hyderabad: Mozambique President Joaquim Alberto Chissano on May 13 called on Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

The President, who arrived in Hyderabad on a two-day visit, said Andhra Pradesh and Mozambique have many things in common as both were agricultural economies and have similar natural resources.

Joaquim was very much impressed by the infrastructure and the manner in which the city was being developed.

The President said India has much to teach countries like Mozambique especially in areas like Information Technology and emerging areas like biotechnology.

Naidu explained to the President about India's economic reforms and how the states were contributing significantly to second-generation reforms in the country.

The Chief Minister explained that Andhra Pradesh had made significant headway in Information Technology for better governance.

The state had introduced flagship programmes like "e-seva" that were providing great convenience to citizens to transact with government, he informed.

The Mozambique President showed keenness to send students from his country for training in some of the institutions of excellence established in Hyderabad.
