Cyclonic storm intensifies, moves East

Bhubaneswar: The cyclonic storm over the West Central Bay moved slightly Eastwards and lay centred about 600 km South of Paradip at 08:30 hours (IST) on May 15, the latest bulletin issued by the Cyclone Warning Centre said.

The system was likely to intensify further and move in a Northerly direction towards North Andhra Pradesh-Orissa coast, it said.

Distant warning signal number two had been kept hoisted at Paradip and Gopalpur ports.

The bulletin warned that heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied with strong winds was likely to commence over coastal Orissa by May 15 night or May 16 morning.
