2 Chhota Rajan aides gunned down in Mumbai
Friday, May 16 2003 14:35 Hrs (IST)

Mumbai: Two gangsters owing allegiance to Chhota Rajan gang were killed in a police encounter at Dahisar in North Mumbai early May 16 morning.

Acting on a tip-off that gangster Raju Nalawade (31) would be arriving at the spot along with an associate, a vigil was being maintained in the area, police said.

On spotting the gangsters, police ordered them to surrender. However, the duo shot at the police party.

The police fired back in self-defence, injuring the gangsters. They were rushed to a nearby hospital, where they were declared dead before admission.

The two were wanted for several cases of serious offences, police said.
