Hurriyat wants to be included in Indo-Pak dialogues
Friday, May 16 2003 19:30 Hrs (IST)
Srinagar: A day after its overseas representatives assured the international community that it would fully
support the Indo-Pak dialogue, the Hurriyat Conference on May 16 insisted on inclusion in the proposed
parleys as a party to find a solution to the Kashmir issue.
The need of the hour is to solve the Kashmir issue as per the wishes and aspirations of Kashmiris and
include the separatist amalgam in the talks to ensure everlasting peace in the region, senior executive
member of Hurriyat, Maulana Mohammad Abbas Ansari told a Friday congregation.
Overseas representatives of Hurriyat assured the US leaders and other European countries that the
amalgam would not play spoilt-sport and would help India and Pakistan to start a new relationship and
resolve all issues including Kashmir.
Ansari said unless the Kashmir issue was resolved, bringing peace in the region will not be an easy task.
"Both New Delhi and Islamabad are making good moves to normalise relations. If the two countries are
really serious and sincere to resolve Kashmir the day will not be far away when the region will witness
peace and prosperity," he said.
