Pak should end cross-border terrorism: Russia
Friday, May 16 2003 16:54 Hrs (IST)

Moscow: Russia has asked Pakistan to fulfil its promises to end cross-border terrorism and appreciated India's peace initiative to normalise relations with Islamabad.

"The fulfilment of obligations assumed by Islamabad to stop the penetration of terrorists through the LoC (line of control) in to Jammu and Kashmir and destroy all terrorist infrastructure on the Pakistani- controlled territory will facilitate the strengthening of co-operation in South Asia," Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov said after a meeting with his Indian counterpart Yashwant Sinha on May 15.

Sinha, who is concluding the Moscow leg of a six-day Russia visit on May 16, noted Moscow's "unstinted support" for India in seeking an end to cross-border terrorism and dismantling of terrorist infrastructure in Pakistan.
