Madurai: Kanchi seer Jayendra Saraswathi on May 18 said he would be going to Delhi on May 30 to continue his talks to find an amicable solution to the Ayodhya issue.

He told reporters that the Ayodhya tangle could be solved in no time if the politicians left the scene. People, both Muslims and Hindus want to find an amicable settlement to the vexatious issue but politicians were playing their own game to split the communities, he charged.

Commenting on the trishul issue, he said trishul was identified with Lord Shiva and there was nothing wrong in having it as a symbol of Lord Shiva. Even Sikhs were holding kripan, he said.

Referring to the issue of unity among the Hindu community, the seer said the 63 nayanmars (staunch devotees of Lord Shiva) belonged to various castes but all of them remained united as devotees of Lord Shiva. There was no caste discrimination among Hindus, he said.
