Indian ship to take part in New York fleet review

New Delhi: Indian Naval adventure sail training ship INS Tarangini, now on a global adventure cruise, will dock in New York on May 21 to take part in the prestigious New York fleet review.

Tarangini will be participating in the review along with US Naval and coastguard ships and warships from the Canadian and Royal Navy, according to Naval officials.

While in North America, the warship is scheduled to visit a total of 17 ports and during these port calls, the ship's Naval complement of 75 personnel will interact with US Navy personnel as well take on board foreign Naval trainee officers from 14 countries.

INS Tarangini, during its global circumnavigation of 16 months, has already docked at Sri Lanka, Spain, South Africa and Egypt and will sail further to UK, France, Italy, South Korea, Malaysia and Indonesia.
