3 Lashkar militants killed, weaponry seized

Jammu: Three ultras belonging to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) outfit were on May 21 shot
dead in Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir, Defence sources said.
On specific information about the presence of militants in Thanamandi forest area of the district, security
forces launched a seek and destroy operation to track down the militants, the sources said.
When troops cordoned a hideout, the militants fired on them and in the encounter three LeT militants
were killed, the sources said.
They said three AK rifles, five magazines, six hand grenades, 130 rounds and a radio set were
recovered from the slain militants.
Thanamandi is second place after Surankote in Jammu division, which has heavy presence of militants,
90 per cent of whom are foreign mercenaries, the sources added.
