Yet another witness turns hostile in Salman case
Thursday, May 22 2003 18:27 Hrs (IST)

Jodhpur: Dealing a blow to prosecution in the poaching case involving Salman Khan, yet another witness on May 22 backtracked from his statement that he had seen the cine star bringing the body of the hunted Blackbuck to a farmhouse five years ago. Prosecution witness Dayal Singh, during cross examination by Khan's counsel Hastimal Saraswat, denied before the Chief Judicial Magistrate Mohammad Salim Malik that he made any statement to the police. In his statement recorded by the police, Singh purportedly said that he had seen the actor and some of his local accomplices bringing the hunted Blackbuck at a farm on the night of September 26 and 27 in 1998. During cross examination in the court, Singh said he was an employee of the farm but denied having seen Salman Khan and others on that night or having made any such statement to the police in this connection.
