NDA govt a total failure on all fronts: Sonia
Thursday, May 22 2003 20:41 Hrs (IST)

Dabra (MP): Charging the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the Centre with "failure" on all fronts, Congress president Sonia Gandhi on May 22 said it had done nothing to remove fear and corruption from society.

Addressing a public meeting in the compound of the local Krishi Upaj Mandi, Sonia said the Vajpayee- led government had assured to remove fear and corruption but had failed to do so.

Instead, it worked for creating hatred among brothers, which was "not in the country's interest", she alleged.

The NDA government had not fully utilised the defence budget because of which during Kargil war necessary equipment could not be purchased for jawans and officers, she alleged.

Sonia said the spirit of unity that was kindled by Congress leader late Madhavrao Scindia five years back, would help spread unity all over the country.

All the Congress governments in the country were doing a much better job than non-Congress governments, she claimed and praised the Madhya Pradesh government for implementing the dalit agenda.
