New Delhi: The resignations of Agriculture Minister Ajit Singh and Minister of State for Finance Gingee
Ramachandran have been accepted by President A P J Abdul Kalam with immediate effect.
While Singh quit the Union Cabinet on May 23 protesting against the government's "apathy" towards
farmers, Ramachandran resigned following arrest of his personal assistant on graft charges.
A Rashtrapati Bhavan communique said that the President had accepted the resignations with
immediate effect on Prime Minister A B Vajpayee's recommendation.
