New Delhi: A day after quitting the Union Cabinet, Rashtriya Lok Dal (RLD) president Ajit Singh is on
May 24 holding a meeting of party MLAs (Members of Legislative Assembly) in the Uttar Pradesh
Assembly to decide the future course of action including support to the NDA (National Democratic

All the MLAs, including five Ministers in the Mayawati government – Kokab Hamid, Anuradha Chaudhary,
Babu Lal, Thakur Tejpal Singh, Swami Omvesh – are attending the meeting, party general secretary
Trilok Tyagi told.
Suspended MLA Samarpal Singh is not attending the meeting, he said adding all the party functionaries
and MLAs welcomed Singh's decision to quit the NDA government and expressed solidarity with him to
work for unity of the secular forces.
Tyagi accused the NDA government of ignoring the interests of farmers and justified Singh's resignation
from the government saying his plea for the farmers were ignored by
the Vajpayee government.
He said the government gave over Rs 13,500 crores to UTI (Unit Trust of India) to help the investors
recover their money, but it failed to provide any concession to the farmers in the country.
