CBSE class X results announced; girls perform better

New Delhi: Girls once again performed better in the Class X examination conducted by the Central
Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), the results for which were declared on May 24.
The pass percentage of girls is 68.75 as compared to the 67.49 of the boys, while the overall pass
percentage is 68.02, the CBSE said.
Among the six CBSE regions, Chennai performed better with a pass percentage is 86.13, while
Guwahati recorded the lowest with 47.24 per cent.
The pass percentage for the Ajmer region is 64.67, Chandigarh 76.87 per cent, Delhi 57.47 per cent
and Allahabad 75.65 per cent, the CBSE said in a press release, adding the overall pass percentage of
the examination in 2002 was 69.53 per cent.
Altogether 5,54,335 candidates appeared in 2519 centres across the country and 1,33,504 candidates
were placed in compartment, it added.
