'POTA accused set up club to send Muslims to Pak'

Ahmedabad: Crime branch investigations into the "conspiracy to foment terrorist activities" in Gujarat
have revealed that two POTA (Prevention of Terrorism Act) accused, arrested from Ahmedabad on May
13, had set up a club named 'al Fala' in Bapunagar area of the city to send Muslim youths to Pakistan
for training in disruptive activities, a local court was told.
The two POTA accused – Atthar Pervez Siddique Mohammed alias Manju Khan Pathan and Mohammad
Farooq alias Haji Farooq and four others were remanded to three more days of police custody by in-
charge metropolitan magistrate G C Gamit.
Pathan and Farooq, both residents of Bapunagar area of the city, had set up the club on the directions
of prime conspirator Mufti Sufiyan Patangia, who is also the alleged mastermind behind former Gujarat
Home Minister Haren Pandya's murder.
Prosecution, while pleading for eight-day remand, submitted that the investigation as to how many
youths have been sent to Pakistan for "training" needed to be probed.
Apart from the duo, four others produced in the court included -- Mohammad Hussain Ghulam Hussain
Sheikh, Maulvi Ahmed Hussain Allarakha Mansuri, both residents of city, Sikandar Khan Sindhi from
Kanodar village in Palanpur taluka of North Gujarat and Mufti Taheer Bakaswala from Surat.
