Militants go berserk, kill 5 of a family in Rajouri

Jammu: Five members of a Gujjar family, including three minor children, were killed by militants in
Rajouri district on May 25, police sources said.
Heavily armed militants barged into the house of Kesar Din Gujjar in village Keri during the intervening
night of May 25-26 and demanded food to be served to them. After having their fill, they tortured the
family members and later killed them, police said adding the house was also set on fire by the fleeing
ultras.
Police reached the spot on May 26 and recovered the charred bodies of Kesar Din, Ratiya Begum and
the children.
The ultras, after committing the crime, escaped towards Dudhal forest area where army and security
officers have cordoned the area and launched a search operation to nab them.
In another incident, security forces shot dead three militants in Surankote forest area of Poonch district
on May 26.
The encounter was still on, police added.
