Rao elected as fellow of Royal Society of Canada

Bangalore: Noted scientist Prof C N R Rao has been elected as foreign fellow of the Royal Society of Canada.

Rao, a Linus Pauling research professor at the Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research in Bangalore is the first Indian to be elected as foreign fellow of the society, a statement said on May 26.

The Royal Society of Canada is the prestigious academy of science, which represents the scientific elite of Canada and occasionally elects scientists of eminence from other countries as foreign fellows based on their contributions to science, it said.
