6 militants killed in Jammu, hideout busted

Jammu: Six ultras were killed and two arrested in militancy-related incidents in Pooch, Rajouri and
Udhampur districts of Jammu division where security forces also busted a militant hideout and recovered
huge quantity of
ration on May 27 evening, official sources said on May 28.
Four Pakistani ultras were gunned down by army troops near the line of control (LoC) in Shahpur
Karnadia area of Poonch-Haveli sector in Poonch district on May 28, they said.
The ultras had crossed the LoC on May 27 and were spotted by the security forces, who after a
prolonged encounter shot all four of them. Search operations were continuing in the area and further
details were awaited.
In another incident, security forces killed two militants in Mahore area of Udhampur on May 27 evening
and recovered some arms and ammunition including some AK rifles from the site of encounter, sources
said.
Reports from Rajouri district said security forces apprehended two suspected militants, identified as
Yusuf and Ershad, from Budhal area on May 27 and recovered from them 12 rounds of AK ammunition.
Security forces also busted a militant hideout at Rantundi village in Doda district and recovered a huge
quantity of ration, they said adding the seizure included 300 kg of rice and wheat, 30 kg tea, 70 kg
sugar, 15 kg mustard oil and a few cans of kerosene.
The militants were using the hideout as a storehouse.
