Islamabad: Pakistan government has taken effective measures to counter what it perceives as Indo-
Israeli nexus, Defence Minister Rao Sikandar Iqbal has been quoted as telling media persons.
He categorically declared, "We could not ignore the Indo-Israeli nexus, although we are not afraid of it as
the country is ready to counter it," reports 'The Nation'.
The minister was speaking to reporters after addressing a seminar on "Managing Disabilities".
Iqbal directly linked "the attitude of Indian leadership" with Pakistan's Defence Budget and said that any
increase in the outlay would depend on New Delhi’s posture vis-à-vis` its neighbour.
"It all depends on India," he remarked. "If it behaves properly, we will reciprocate in the same way.
Otherwise we are ready to face the situation."
However, the minister also said that Islamabad was optimistic about the recent positive developments
between Pakistan and India, and believed that the top leadership in India is serious about resuming
talks, the newspaper added.
But he stated that there was no truth in allegations of cross- border terrorism or infiltration from Pakistan
occupied Kashmir (PoK) to Jammu and Kashmir.
