Heavy Pak shelling in Noushera
Thursday, May 29 2003 14:59 Hrs (IST)

India-north-KNN Jammu: Pakistani troops on May 29 shelled Noushera sub-sector of Rajouri-Poonch sector in Jammu and Kashmir, according to official sources.

Pak troops fired 70 to 80 mortar bombs of 60, 61 and 81-mm range in Noushera and Jangard areas since morning on civilian and defence locations along line of control (LoC) in Rajouri-Poonch belt, the sources said.

Amid panic, villagers took shelter in bunkers, as Indian troops guarding LoC retaliated, they said.

The border exchanges were intermittently still on when reports last came in, they said adding there was no casuality so far.
