TDP to continue outside support to NDA
Thursday, May 29 2003 16:52 Hrs (IST)
Tirupati: The Telugu Desam Party (TDP) on May 29 said it would continue to give outside support to
National Democratic Alliance (NDA) government at the centre as long as it remained committed to the
common agenda but asserted that TDP would not hesitate to review its decision if there was any
deviation from the same.
The political resolution moved on the concluding day of party's annual convention 'Mahanadu' said the
party was extending outside support to NDA and it would continue to do so as long as NDA stuck to the
common agenda.
"We made our stand clear on 'silanyas' issue saying that the Supreme Court verdict should be followed
and also condemned the Ghodra incident," TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu said during the
discussion on the resolution.
"We never hesitated to dispute with the Centre on issues which is against the party line and out of NDA
agenda," he said adding that TDP was committed to secularism and national integration.
Without giving much focus on the NDA or BJP, TDP launched a scathing attack on Congress for
its "double standards" and did not spare the left parties describing their ideologies as outdated and
irrelevant to the present day, he said.
