Police seek custodial interrogation of Azhagiri

Madurai: A petition seeking a five-day custodial interrogation of M K Azhagiri, who was detained in Tiruchirapalli prisons in connection with the murder of former Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) minister T Kiruttinan on May 20, was filed before a Judicial Magistrate court.

Azhagiris counsel, who filed a counter on May 29 pleaded that he should not be left in the custody of police.

The Magistrate Vanitha posted the petition for hearing on June 2.

Azhagiri, son of DMK Chief and former Tamil Nadu Chief Minster M Karunanidhi, was arrested on May 21 in connection with the murder.
