Supplementary charge sheet filed against Advani

Raebareilly: A supplementary charge sheet was on May 31 filed against Deputy Prime Minister L K Advani and 7 others by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in a special court in the Babri Masjid demolition case.

The court had granted the investigating agency time till May 31 to file the supplementary charge sheet.

The special court exempted Advani, his Cabinet colleague Murli Manohar Joshi and 6 other accused in the case from personal appearance on May 31.

It posted the matter for further hearing to June 13 and asked CBI to furnish copies of the supplementary charge sheet to the defendants.

The court directed the CBI to produce before it the investigation report prepared by the Crime Branch Criminal Investigative Department (CBCID) on the Babri Masjid demolition. The case was initially given to CBCID.

The court also directed the CBI to produce news clippings, videography and photographs collected by CBCID during the course of its investigation.
