Muslim parties allowed to witness Ayodhya excavation
Saturday, May 31 2003 22:55 Hrs (IST)

Ayodhya: The Faizabad administration on May 31 granted permission to Muslim contesting parties to witness excavation in a trench in the acquired land in Ayodhya.

The Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) had earlier prohibited Muslim parties to witness excavation, prompting them to lodge a protest with the administration.

Central Sunni Waqf board's counsel Zafaryab Jilani was present to witness the digging.

Twelve articles including moulded bricks were recovered during digging on May 31, sources said.
