Heat wave toll in Andhra Pradesh rises to 765

Hyderabad: The toll in the intense heat wave sweeping parts of Andhra Pradesh has mounted to 765 with reports of 183 more deaths on May 31, official sources said.

A spokesman of state relief commissioner said Nalgonda district accounted for the highest number of deaths – 131, followed by Guntur 114, West Godavari district 106, East Godavari 103, Prakasam 98 and Krishna district 44.

In the state capital, five people died due to sunstroke, official sources said.
