Nepalese Maoists used by ISI to rope in PWG, MCC
Sunday, June 1 2003 12:07 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: In a move likely to have wide ramifications, Pakistan's ISI has reportedly got in touch with some Maoist organisations in Nepal to gain access to rebel groups in India like People's War Group (PWG) and Maoist Communist Centre (MCC).

The move comes after ISI failed to woo a group in Bihar which did not go through with a deal after it came to know of the ISI's nefarious designs, official sources said in New Delhi.

Quoting interrogation reports of some arrested militants and other intelligence inputs, the sources said now ISI operatives in Nepal had roped in a Maoist organisation in Nepal to do the needful in making inroads into the areas like Bihar and other PWG and MCC dominated areas.

The sources said that some Nepalese Muslims were also being trained to infiltrate into this country under the guise of labourers to carry out anti-India activities.

It is alleged that Nepali Muslim Yuva Sangh was transferred enormous amount of money by several Pakistani operatives for carrying out anti-India training programmes, the sources said.
