Jammu: Nine people, including four ultras, were killed and a special police officer was injured in separate militancy-related incidents across Jammu division where security forces also busted a militant hideout since May 31 official sources said on June 1.

Unidentified militants kidnapped three Hindu shepherds from Doda district on May 31 and later killed them. Their bodies were found from forest area of Tiba Dhar on June 1, they said.

As a protest to the incident, shops remained closed in Bhaderwah town on June 1, they added.

In another incident in Doda district, militants killed one dullah gujjar in Dhar forest area on May 31 night, the sources said.

Border Security Force (BSF) personnel shot dead an intruder near international border in budhwar area, they said.

The intruder, from whom an AK rifle and some ammunition were recovered, was reportedly sent by Pakistani agencies to disrupt the ongoing fencing work in the area, the sources said and added, his identity was being ascertained.
