Jalgaon: Maharashtra Food and Civil Supply Minister, Suresh Jain, on June 5 filed a defamation case in a district court in Jalgaon against anti-corruption crusader Anna Hazare, for levelling corruption charges against the former recently.

Jain's advocate Sudhil Achyutrao Atre told reporters "The minister went to the district court and submitted all papers".

Last month, Hazare had levelled grave corruption charges against four NCP (Nationalist Congress Party) ministers, including Jain, who had sent legal notice challenging him to prove the allegations or face legal action.

Jain is scheduled to file another defamation case against Hazare in Mumbai on June 11.

Making counter allegations, Jain, who is also the guardian Minister of Jalgaon, had also claimed that he has received numerous complaints of corruption against Hazare and his activists.
