PWG Naxals blast police station, 14 surrender

Hyderabad: Peoples War Group (PWG) naxalites on June 5, blasted a police station in Ananthapur even
as 14 ultras surrendered to police in Warangal district of Andhra Pradesh.
A group of 10 PWG naxals stormed a police station at Roddam Mandal, about 70 km from Ananthapur,
and blasted it after forcing the Sub-Inspetor Nabi Rasool and constable Nagaraju out and fettering them
with ropes, police said.
In a letter left at the site, the ultras said their action was in retaliation to the
fake encounters in Cuddapah district, police said.
Fourteen naxalites of vairous factions, including wife of a top PWG ultra, surrendered before the
Warangal DIG of police T Krishna Prasad.
Susheela, wife of former Karimnagar district secretary A Komariah, claimed that her husband was killed
by police in a fake encounter.Susheela, the area commander of Madhapur and carrying a reward of Rs
20,000,she was surrendering on health grounds.
The naxals who surrendered included six of PWG, three each of Pratighatana and Praja Pratighatana
groups and two of Jana Shakti. Superintendent of police Nalin Prabhat was also present on the
occasion.
