OIC resolutions on J&K "irrelevant": India
Friday, June 6 2003 18:44 Hrs (IST)

New Delhi: Strongly reacting to the Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) adopting resolutions regarding Jammu and Kashmir and other internal matters, India on June 6 rejected them as "irrelevant".

"No importance should be attached to this annual chide by Pakistan," an External Affairs Ministry spokesman said.

Responding to a question, the spokesman said, "Yes, we are aware that the OIC has once again adopted resolutions and statements relating to Jammu and Kashmir and other internal matters of India at the OIC foreign ministers' meeting in Tehran."

"We have said on earlier occasions also that the OIC has no locus standi in matters concerning India's internal affairs. We, therefore, reject all such irrelevant resolutions and statements," the spokesman said.
