Shilpa Shetty's mother files regular bail plea

Surat: Sunanda Shetty, mother of actress Shilpa Shetty and accused in an extortion case, on June 7
filed a petition seeking regular bail in the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate court.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) D L Desai posted the petition for hearing on June 10, public
prosecutor, Jatin Gandhi said.
Sunanda was last week given transit bail till June 12 by a Mumbai court in the same case.
Her husband and co-accused, Surendra has been granted interim liberty by Gujarat High Court and
asked to deposit his passport. As per the High Court directive, Umra police interrogated him on June 6.
Police have filed a case against Shilpa's parents Surendra, Sunanda and underworld don Fazlu
Rehman for allegedly extorting money from owner of Praful Sarees Pankaj Agarwal. Police alleged
Shilpa's parents had 'hired' a gangster to recover Rs 80 lakhs payable to the actress by Agarwal for
acting in an advertising film.
