Nalin Surie is the new Ambassador to China

Beijing: Career diplomat Nalin Surie will be India's new Ambassador to China in place of Shivashankar Menon who has been posted as the country's High Commissioner to Pakistan.

Surie currently hold the post of an Additional Secretary in the External Affairs ministry.

China has cleared the appointment of Surie as India's next Ambassador to Beijing, Foreign ministry sources said.

He is currently here to finalise the agreements and fine-tune the proposed visit of Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee to China later this month, they said.
