DNA tests expose fake baby swapping claim in AP
Sunday, June 8 2003 15:33 Hrs (IST)

Karimnagar: The DNA test result in a baby swapping case has proved that the complaint about baby swapping lodged by a local couple against a private hospital at Godavarikhani in the district was false.

J Rajeshwari and her husband Rajaiah had lodged a complaint with Godavarikhani police that their baby boy was swapped for a girl child on May 10.

Following the complaint the police had sent their blood samples for DNA test to ascertain the fact.

According to Godavarikhani-I town circle inspector Surender Reddy, a case has been booked against the couple for lodging a false complaint.

The DNA test result received on June 7 stated that J Rajeshwari and her husband Rajaiah are in fact the biological parents of the disowned female baby.

"We have handed over the 28-day-old girl to her parents after receipt of the DNA report", Reddy added.
