Jammu: Militants abducted four Hindus and killed three of them while the fourth one is missing in Kathua district of Jammu and Kashmir, official sources said on June 8.

Militants barged into two villages of Channa Sergale and Rai Siyal in Billawar forest areas of Kathua and abducted four Hindus late on June 7 night, they said.

The kidnapped persons were taken to the upper forest belt and tortured throughout the night, the sources said adding three of them were killed and the limbs of one of the slain chopped off.

Police recovered their bodies from Dyggaini forest area on June 8.

Those killed have been identified as Prakash Singh, Gyan Singh, Sudesh alias billu and the missing person as Hans Raj, the sources said.

A major operation has been launched to trace Raj, who police fear might have also been killed.
