College Principal shot by son-in- law survives

Bangalore: The Principal of a prominent college was allegedly shot at on June 7 night by his son-in-law, who then committed suicide, police sources said.

Venkataraju, Principal of Seshadripuram College, received bullet in his chin, sources said. He was operated upon and his condition was improving, they said.

The incident happened in Venkataraju's house. Son-in-law Mahesh and Venkataraju's daughter, who is an IAS officer, were having a "strained relationship" for a long-time and it's suspected to be the reason behind the crime, sources said.
