American Centre attack accused deposes before court

Kolkata: Nadim Ahmed, an accused in the American Centre attack in Kolkata, on June 9 told a special court that he had links with the Pakistan based militant group, Hizbul Mujahideen.

Deposing before the special judge P L Dutta inside the presidency jail, Nadim also said that he had known Asib Ansari, the prime accused in the attack on American Centre on January 22, 2002. He also identified Ansari who was present in the court.

He also submitted that after his release in 1999, he came back to Kolkata and had been staying in the city ever since.

The court was adjourned for June 9.
