Jaya sacks Pandyan, 2 others from party posts

Chennai: Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) general secretary, Jayalalithaa, on June 9, sacked party legal advisor and MP, P H Pandiyan and the headquarters secretary, K A Sengottaiyan from their posts with immediate effect.

They have been replaced by Advocate N Jothi and D Jayakumar, Law and Electricity Minister, respectively, party press release said. No reason has been adduced for this sudden move.

While Pandiyan was the former Speaker of the state Assembly, Sengottaiyan was the former Transport Minister in the previous AIADMK regime (1991 to 1996).

She had also removed R Samy, MLA, from the secretaryship of MGR youth wing.

No one has been named for this post.
